What I ate Wednesday #2 (WIAW)

I’m pretty boring when it comes to food; I can eat the same thing every day and not get bored. If I like it, it’s here to stay. I hope my husband likes chickpeas because I practically live off of them. However, this week I actually didn’t eat any! I know, crazy. Here’s this week’s WIAW post. Go and visit Peas & Crayon to see the rest of the fun. If you have a blog then leave your link below.

Breakfast: Wholemeal cinnamon & raisin bagel

I didn’t eat all five! I just had one. My best friend and I did a breakfast exchange; I baked her some granola and in return she baked me some bagels. You can’t go wrong with a fresh bagel and these were really good. Better than anything shop bought. I had mine with some natural jam.

Snack: Macadamia nuts & Cranberries

Cranberries are a recent discovery of mine. A friend at work bought them and didn’t like them so gave them to me, the “crazy healthy colleague.” I’ve been hooked since. I’m not a big macadamia fan (well I like them in cheesecakes) but Morrisons don’t sell them on their own so I have to deal with them.

Lunch: Pasta salad

Quite a simple lunch for a Uni day. Wholemeal pasta, peas, sweetcorn, cucumber and vegan mayo. I’m not vegan but I had it from when I was testing out the vegan life. The peas are probably a bit random but I’m a pea fan. This was followed by a bit of dried fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth. I love these Bear Snack things; dried strawberries are so nice. Clearly I devoured them and then remembered to take a photo!

Dinner: Smoothie

I had a bit of this smoothie before my athletics training and then finished the rest afterwards. It was just bananas, hemp seeds, cashew butter, cinnamon and almond milk. I get home really late after training so I usually have something light like an omelette or a smoothie.

Drink: ‘Detox Water’

I’m sure you’ve heard of detox water by now. I’m not sure if it actually works but it can’t hurt to throw a bit of fruit in and hope for the best. Apparently the fruit inside the water helps to cleanse your body and I’m in need of a bit of a cleanse so I do this most days. This one has blueberries and lemons which both have antioxidant properties and many other health benefits. I put the fruit in my blogilates bottle and then leave it in the fridge overnight. It tastes pretty good and let’s be honest, I look pretty cool drinking from it.

So there’s another day in my belly! Hope you enjoyed. Check out the other WIAW posts and leave your own below.

Yum, your food looks so good. I wish I had a friend who baked me bagels.

Love the rest of your food too, especially the smoothie and the macadamia nuts (even if you don’t like them. I loooove them. Haha). Looks like a great day.

Thanks Arman! My friend is great huh? I’d gladly get you a coffee in exchange for something exciting from Australia. I hope to visit there one day.
