What I ate Wednesday #2 (WIAW)

I’m pretty boring when it comes to food; I can eat the same thing every day and not get bored. If I like it, it’s here to stay. I hope my husband likes chickpeas because I practically live off of them. However, this week I actually didn’t eat any! I know, crazy. Here’s this week’s WIAW post. Breakfast: Wholemeal cinnamon & raisin bagel



 

I didn’t eat all five! I just had one. My best friend and I did a breakfast exchange; I baked her some granola and in return she baked me some bagels. You can’t go wrong with a fresh bagel and these were really good. Better than anything shop bought. I had mine with some natural jam.

Snack: Macadamia nuts & Cranberries

 

Cranberries are a recent discovery of mine. A friend at work bought them and didn’t like them so gave them to me, the “crazy healthy colleague.” I’ve been hooked since. I’m not a big macadamia fan (well I like them in cheesecakes) but Morrisons don’t sell them on their own so I have to deal with them.

 

Lunch: Pasta salad

Quite a simple lunch for a Uni day. Wholemeal pasta, peas, sweetcorn, cucumber and vegan mayo. I’m not vegan but I had it from when I was testing out the vegan life. The peas are probably a bit random but I’m a pea fan. This was followed by a bit of dried fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth. I love these Bear Snack things; dried strawberries are so nice. Clearly I devoured them and then remembered to take a photo!

 

Dinner: Smoothie

I had a bit of this smoothie before my athletics training and then finished the rest afterwards. It was just bananas, hemp seeds, cashew butter, cinnamon and almond milk. I get home really late after training so I usually have something light like an omelette or a smoothie.

Drink: ‘Detox Water’

I’m sure you’ve heard of detox water by now. I’m not sure if it actually works but it can’t hurt to throw a bit of fruit in and hope for the best. Apparently the fruit inside the water helps to cleanse your body and I’m in need of a bit of a cleanse so I do this most days. This one has blueberries and lemons which both have antioxidant properties and many other health benefits. I put the fruit in my blogilates bottle and then leave it in the fridge overnight. It tastes pretty good and let’s be honest, I look pretty cool drinking from it.

    Yum, your food looks so good. I wish I had a friend who baked me bagels.

    Love the rest of your food too, especially the smoothie and the macadamia nuts (even if you don’t like them. I loooove them. Haha). Looks like a great day.

    Stopping over from WIAW a tad late- what an epic day of eats. My friends never make me bagels…they’d probably make ME make them some! I love that your from the UK- I want a Costa coffee please 😉
